I thought it was just something we do at night to clear our conscience and get a good night's rest. It was not too long ago that I began to realize the power of prayer and its importance in my life. It was only last year when I started to truly open up to God and tell Him about everything that was on my mind and in my heart. I told Him all my concerns and my troubles, my fears and all my doubts. I found that if I asked, I would receive an answer, and what I couldn't see could be revealed to me, if I just requested. Prayer also gave me a chance to thank God. As I began to thank God more in prayer, it allowed me to realize how much I have been blessed with, and how beautiful my life is. I love the sunny days and starry nights; I love dancing in the rain and spinning too fast; I love the laughter shared between friends and the healing that comes after tears. Christ's love and blessings are all around us if we only look up. Sometimes I forget how much I have been given, and through prayer and praise, my gratitude grows each day. Prayer has become the foundation for my relationship with God. It has allowed Christ a gateway into my life, and has given me a chance to live more closely with him, and for this, I couldn't be more grateful. |
